Elivette Zambrana-Flores is a pediatric rheumatologist within the HIMAHEALTH network. She is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Zambrana-Flores completed her subspecialty training in pediatric rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2002. Prior to joining HIMA, Dr. Zambrana-Flores was Assistant Professor at the Pediatric Rheumatology Department of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Zambrana-Flores is currently licensed to practice medicine in Puerto Rico. She also has inactive medical licensing in both Texas and Georgia. Dr. Zambrana-Flores is a fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology. She is also a member of the Asociación de Reumatólogos de Puerto Rico and the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico. In 2006, Dr. Zambrana-Flores was listed as one of America’s Top Pediatricians.
Areas of interest include juvenile arthritis, spondyloarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, antiphospholipid syndrome, dermatomyositis, Sjogren's syndrome, vasculitis, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease, sarcoidosis, Henoch-Schonlein purpura, reactive arthritis, Kawasaki's disease, Raynaud's disease and growing pains in children.
