Jhon A. Guerra M.D. is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and its Sub-board of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology within the HIMAHEALTH network. He obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and then a post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons Children’s Hospital of New York.
Dr. Guerra has been licensed to practice medicine in New York, Connecticut, Puerto Rico and Colombia. His most recent position, director of the stem cell program, was held at the HIMA San Pablo Hospital in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
Dr. Guerra has been published in numerous recognized scientific journals including the Puerto Rico Health Sciences Journal and The Hematology Journal. He is a member of the American Society for Bone and Marrow Transplantation, the Puerto Rico College of Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
